This Thermaltake gaming PC is currently at its lowest price in 30 days at Newegg, with a solid $300 discount and an Onimusha game bundle worth $69.99 thrown in. It comes in at $1,599.99, which is one of the most affordable RX 9070 XT builds I’ve come across and is very competitively priced for a PC with a 16GB VRAM graphics card. Not only is this a much more affordable alternative to the RTX 5070 Ti (which also boasts excellent QHD performance with 4K capabilities), but it’s also a worthy alternative to your typical TX 5070 build, too. That’s because, in my experience, most RTX 5070 PCs with the same Ryzen 7 8700F processor are between $1,499 and $1,600, but only have 12GB of VRAM. In short, if you’re after as much VRAM as possible for your cash, this deal is a good way to go.

Now, obviously, there’s a trade-off for it to be under $1,600. It only has 16GB of DDR5, a small 1TB SSD, and its processor, while ‘fine’ for the RX 9070 XT, doesn’t exactly boast the gaming prowess of a Ryzen X3D. Where are you going to feel that? Well, if you’re playing at very high frame rates in 1080p and QHD, or in particularly RAM-hungry titles, its CPU and RAM may become the limiting factor in performance. That said, the processor is AM5, which gives you a clear runway for upgrades in the future, and you can also stack some more DDR5 in here later down the line, if you wish.

Overall, while this PC does scale back in areas to remain more affordable, relatively speaking, that is, it’s still a solid RX 9070 XT build that’s going to be great for primarily gaming, rather than intensive multitasking and demanding creative work. Read on for a closer look at this PC’s key components, and for more of our top gaming PC deals.

Key components of this Thermaltake LCGS NE gaming PC

Ryzen 8700F processor

It features 8 cores, 16 threads, a 5GHz boost clock, and a 16MB L3 cache, making it a decent AM5 CPU for most mid-range builds. This, and potentially an Intel i7-14700F, would usually be the best way if you’re looking for the most affordable prebuilds with decent GPUs, like an RTX 5070 or RX 9070XT.

RX 9070 XT graphics card

It features 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM, a 256-bit bus, and 4,096 stream processors, and is built on the latest RDNA 4 architecture, which gives you features like FSR4 and improved ray tracing and AI capabilities. This card can actually trade blows with the RTX 5070 Ti when it comes to raw performance, and is often more affordable, too. For many, it’s one of the best graphics cards for QHD and 4K you can buy for the money.

850W PSU and tower air cooler

850W is plenty for this configuration, and opting for an air cooler instead of an AIO, it helps keep costs down and is still appropriate for the lower-TDP Ryzen 7 8700F.

16GB of DDR5 and 1 TB SSD

The RAM here is 6000MHz, and there’s enough for gaming, but not that much for multitasking, running background applications, or playing particularly demanding games. Similarly, 1TB is enough for most people, but it starts getting tight if you’re building a larger AAA gaming library, many of which can top the scales at over 100GB.
