It’s a smart time to buy this LG 27GS93QE 27-inch Ultragear OLED gaming monitor, as it’s at its lowest price again on Amazon. Now the discount is 44%, but the actual price drop is more modest (around $60 from what I’m seeing through price tracking data); however, at $499.99, it’s a pretty good price considering it’s from one of the leading brands in the monitor game.

This a premium QHD, 240Hz gaming monitor with an OLED, DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified display, and high-performance gaming features, like FreeSync Premium Pro. It’s essentially designed for both AAA gaming at ultra settings in HDR and competitive gaming at high framerates, and would pair well with a higher-end QHD gaming PC. If you have something like an RTX 5070 Ti or RX 9070 XT, this monitor would complement its performance capabilities well, without being quite as overkill as a QHD, 360Hz model.

Is this the best price for a QHD, OLED, 240Hz monitor? Actually, no, as you can find cheaper and similar ones if you shop around. However, LG monitors like this one earn their weightier price tag with their premium design, build quality, and unique aesthetics. For under $500, it’s a win if you want something that ticks all the boxes, plus some extra, for less.

What we like about this LG 27-inch Ultragear OLED Gaming Monitor

Impressive OLED display makes games look more lifelike and cinematic

With a 1.5M contrast ratio, 98.5% DCI-P3 color, and solid peak brightness, this monitor can essentially make blacks look super dark and inky, colors look more true-to-life, and produce bright highlights, too. For story-driven games or anything more atmospheric, it adds loads of immersion.

OLED screen is also great for video editing

Thanks to its high DCI-P3 color coverage, you can use this monitor to make accurate edits on creative projects, without necessarily needing a separate display. For video editors and content creators, it’s great.

Speedy and responsive gaming performance

240Hz, 0.03ms response time, and FreeSync Premium Pro work together to allow for up to 240fps in QHD, with reduced screen tearing, motion blur, and ghosting. Premium Pro is a big win for HDR gaming, too, making everything much smoother.

Anti-glare coating comes in handy for well-lit rooms

Some OLEDs are glossy, which look great, but pick up loads of glare, and are best used in low-light environments. Since this monitor is anti-glare, you can pretty much use it anywhere and still view it clearly.
