Prime Day deals are looking good this year, especially on 50-series gaming laptops, with many of them hitting record-low prices on Amazon. This MSI Katana 15 HX gaming laptop is down 15% and currently coming in at $1,139.99, which is its best price ever.
First off, RTX 5060 gaming laptops tend to hover between $1,100 and $1500 is some cases, sometimes even more, but for many, they make the most sense from a price-to-performance perspective when they’re closer to the lower end. This laptop’s graphics card has 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM and has Blackwell features like MFG, improved ray tracing, and AI capabilities. It’s designed primarily with FHD gaming in mind, but it’s also a capable workstation GPU, too, especially for content creators.
MSI Katana 15 HX Gaming Laptop
This is paired with an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor, which is a solid all-rounder packing 16 cores, 24 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.2GHz, and 30MB Intel Smart Cache. It’s essentially a CPU that’s going to be great for heavy multitasking, gaming at high fps with low latency, and heavy creative workloads in applications like Premiere Pro and Blender. This laptop’s 16GB of high-speed DDR5 RAM will also come in handy with this, improving performance across the board.

The screen on this laptop is pretty impressive for the price, as it’s QHD resolution, 165Hz, and boasts 100% DCI-P3 color. It’s a level-up from some of your more budget-friendly FHD RTX 5060 laptops, and means that you can enjoy crisper picture quality, competitive frame rates when gaming, and use it for precise creative work and edits, too.
This laptop has a few more standout features as you’ll see below, but overall, it’s a brilliant pick for those looking to game on the go and have something with strong, but not overkill, workstation capabilities. For the price, it’s genuinely good value, and well worth considering while it’s reduced for Prime Day.
