This Acer Nitro V 16S gaming laptop is going for its lowest price in 30 days at Newegg, coming in at $2,199.99 with $240 off. This gaming laptop brings a fair bit to the table for the price, as it packs an RTX 5070 mobile GPU, 16GB of DDR5, an Intel Core Ultra 7 355, and a 1TB SSD. It also has a WUXGA 16″ screen with a 180Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB color. This laptop takes aim at those who want something punchier than a conventional RTX 5060 model, with stronger 1200p and 1440p gaming capabilities, and more power for GPU-accelerated creative workloads. That said, it’s still a smart configuration from a price-to-performance perspective, and isn’t over-specced in any area. Here’s a closer look at its key features.

Key features of this Acer Nitro V 16S gaming laptop
16″ WUXGA display
FHD+ resolution means you’re getting slightly more vertical screen real estate than your conventional FHD laptop screens. It’s also IPS, which gives you excellent viewing angles, and makes this a good option if you’re using your laptop to the side of a monitor, for instance. At 180Hz, it’s a high enough refresh rate to accommodate fast-paced, competitive gaming, without being overkill for the RTX 5070’s capabilities.
RTX 5070 graphics card
With the RTX 5070, you’ve got 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM and 4,608 CUDA cores, which is a fair whack more than the RTX 5060. With more raw power, you can expect better performance across the board, whether that’s with gaming or working in creative applications, like Premiere Pro and Da Vanci Resolve. And, of course, it has the usual Blackwell features like DLSS 4 support with MFG to help it punch above its weight at higher settings in supported games.,

Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor
A decent CPU for this type of build, that features 8 cores, 8 threads, a 12MB L3 cache, and 4.7GHz boost clock speed. I’d say that it leans more toward 1200p/ QHD gaming, rather than acting as a multitasking powerhouse or a CP that will deliver super low-latency gameplay at lower resolutions/ higher framerates. However, it is energy efficient, which helps keep this laptop much more usable on the go.
Things to consider before buying
This is an interesting build that leans towards the lower-end pricing-wise when it comes to RTX 5070 laptops, and I think that’s mostly down to its choice of processor. I’d say this laptop is going to be best used primarily as a gaming laptop, for FHD+ on the go, but would be decent for creatives who are producing content to be viewed online, too. Overall, at this price, I think it’s quite compelling for the right person.
