The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is known as one of the best gaming processors available today. It delivers top-tier performance and can handle modern games and heavy tasks with ease.

However, since around September last year, the price of the 7800X3D has been going up due to high demand. Because of this, many were waiting for it to come down in price before buying it. And after several months of waiting, there's finally good news, as the 7800X3D is now back under the $400 mark.

7800X3D is currently available for under $400

Since its release, the 7800X3D has been a popular choice. It remained in high demand for months, and at one point, it was sold out almost everywhere. Only a few retailers had it in stock, with Newegg listing it for over $600, far above its original price.

When AMD launched the Rryzen 7 9800X3D, many thought the older 7800X3D would finally get a price cut. But that didn't happen. In fact, both the 7800X3D and 9800X3D stayed at similar prices, which made the newer 9800X3D a better deal in terms of value. At one point, the 7900X3D was slightly more expensive than its successor.

Even after AMD released the newer Ryzen 9 9900X3D and 9950X3D, there was still no big drop in the price of the 7800X3D for a sustained period. This left many gamers and PC builders frustrated, especially those who had been waiting for months to buy it at a reasonable price. But things have finally changed. If you head over to Amazon right now, you can find the 7800X3D listed for $399. On Newegg, the same processor is available for $10 more – $409.

If you look at the price history on Camelcamelcamel, you can see that the 7800X3D’s price has been fluctuating between $399 and $450 for the past few weeks. We don’t know how long it will stay at $399, so you should hurry and get one before the price increases again.

With the 9800X3D still priced at around $479, there’s now an $80 price gap between the two CPUs. That makes the 7800X3D a much more attractive option again. For gamers looking for strong performance without spending too much, this could be the perfect time to pick up the 7800X3D before prices go up again or stock runs low. However, the 9800X3D is a better choice for those who are looking for a newer CPU with updated features, including overclocking.
