AMD’s new Ryzen 9950X3D and 9900X3D processors spotted on Amazon ahead of launch

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D was released a few months ago and quickly became one of the best gaming processors out there. In fact, it was sold out within minutes and is still difficult to get today. At the moment, AMD fans are eagerly waiting for the next two X3D CPUs to arrive, namely the 9950X3D and 9900X3D, which will hit the market tomorrow (March 12th). Now, with just one day left until their launch, the CPUs have finally appeared at a popular retailer.
Ryzen 9950X3D and 9900X3D spotted on Amazon Canada
At the moment, both the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D are listed on Amazon Canada. They are marked as “currently available,” which usually applies to products that are yet to be released or have been discontinued. As expected, there is no pre-order option, meaning they can only be purchased after launch.
The listings also don’t mention the price, but AMD’s Jack Huynh has confirmed that the 9950X3D will cost $699, while the 9900X3D will be priced at $599 USD. We expect both CPUs to be hotly contested. While they may not sell as fast as the 9800X3D, the first batch could be gone within a day or two. If that does end up happening, scalpers will likely take advantage of the situation and list these CPUs at much higher prices on third-party platforms like eBay.
In any case, the 9950X3D will be the flagship model of the 9000X3D lineup, offering 16 cores, 32 threads, and a cache size of 144MB. It will also have a boost clock speed of 5.7 GHz and a TDP of 170W. The 9900X3D, on the other hand, will be the second most powerful CPU in the lineup. It boasts 12 cores, 24 threads, and a TDP of 120W.
Both CPUs will be released tomorrow, March 12, and you’ll need to keep your favorite retailer’s page open at launch to increase your chances of securing a unit on day one.
