The Nvidia App was launched back in November this year, allowing users to update drivers and optimize game settings from one place. However, while the app was designed to help improve the user experience, it has been causing serious performance issues for some people.
Thankfully, it seems like there’s a quick fix that can help improve performance in games, even while using the Nvidia App.
Nvidia App performance issues
According to a user named Sebastian Castellanos on X, they were facing performance issues in games like Black Myth: Wukong and The Talos Principle 2 while using the Nvidia App. With the app installed, they were getting around 184 and 192 FPS, respectively, in the two games. In reply to his post, several other users claimed that they have been facing performance issues in different games because of the Nvidia App. This is why most people started uninstalling the application to get a performance boost. However, it seems like the performance can be improved by disabling a feature in the Nvidia App, so you might not need to delete it after all.
How to improve performance with the Nvidia App
Sebastian Castellanos shared an update on his X account that he was able to fix the performance issues by turning off the Game Filters and Photo Mode option from the Nvidia App settings. With the Game Filters and Photo Mode option enabled, the user was getting around 186.5 FPS in Black Myth: Wukong and 191.3 FPS in The Talos Principle 2. However, after disabling the feature, the FPS jumped to 228 and 267, respectively.
Plenty of users replied to his post and claimed that disabling the option helped fix different issues for them. One user reported that Warzone was stuttering for them, but the issue was resolved after they turned off Game Filters and Photo Mode. Another user added they stopped getting an RTX 3090 VR error.
However, it is important to keep in mind that as per Sebastian, this method won’t for everyone. However, you should still give it a try before completely uninstalling the application from your system.
