The public beta of the upcoming iOS 18 update was released a few days ago, and we will not see the full release until fall. With the iOS 18 update, plenty of new features will be added to iPhones, but there are two major upgrades that we’re waiting for – Apple’s AI features along with a major Siri AI overhaul.
So far, there have been talks about adding Apple Intelligence to the upcoming iOS 18 update. However, Apple has not yet given a concrete date for when the AI feature will be added to the iOS 18 beta.
We may see Apple Intelligence in iOS 18 beta next month
If we were to make a guess, then Apple might be adding the AI features to the beta version sometime in August. And then maybe the full iOS 18 release will happen in September, along with the iPhone 16 line-up.
So far, Apple has released four versions of the iOS 18 beta, and none of them came with AI features. So, if Apple were to release the next OS upgrade in September, it would need to give developers time to test the beta well before the release for a smoother launch.
Apple first unveiled its plans for Apple Intelligence in WWDC earlier this year. Following that, multiple beta tests for the upcoming OS upgrade were conducted but so far, we haven’t seen any AI features. As per Apple’s preview, users will be able to write using AI, create pictures from doodles, and also create customized ‘genmojis.’ Along with this, Siri will also be upgraded for a more personalized experience.
As per Apple, when Apple Intelligence features arrive, they will be available exclusively on iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the upcoming iPhone 16 line up will be able to run iOS 18 with AI features right out of the box. The current public beta (without the AI features) is available for iPhone SE 2nd generation and newer phones.
At the moment, from what we have seen from the iOS 18 public beta, the upgrade has several interesting features to offer. Some of the highlights include a customizable home screen, locked and hidden apps, a new look for the control center, and more. The full iOS 18 release is scheduled for fall – so that gives Apple quite some time to release AI features and test them. But Apple has not yet given any confirmation about Apple Intelligence so far.
