ASUS has announced via its German press portal that the warranty period for its laptops (including ASUS and ROG-branded models) is being extended from two years to three. We can’t argue against an improvement like this, especially since some regions have just one year, but so far, only a German press release has been spotted, so the extension seems limited to just this region for the time being.

In any case, this is great news for Germans in the market for a new laptop. Whether it be for gaming or something better suited for working from home, rest assured that ASUS delivers three years of warranty as standard. There is a catch, however, as this offer will not be applied retroactively, and it’s not available for the brand’s Chromebooks.

ASUS extends laptop warranty to three years in Germany

To put it simply, this offer only covers ASUS laptops purchased after October 1, 2025, and the laptop must be manufactured after January 2024. In other words, this extended warranty is only available on some of ASUS’s latest models. Previously purchased devices do not qualify for the extension.

Aside from the dates, ASUS also notes that the battery is excluded – this specific component is only covered for 12 months from the date of purchase. Damage that isn’t covered includes “improper handling, cosmetic defects, normal wear and tear, and accessories”. The same goes for software errors, theft, and loss.

Notebook warranty extension since August 2025

The warranty covers all ASUS consumer and gaming notebooks purchased after October 1, 2025, and with a manufacturing date after January 2024. A retroactive extension for previously purchased devices is not possible.

So, no Chromebooks, but the rest of ASUS’s laptop range is getting this generous buff. This includes its ROG and TUF gaming laptops, as well as Vivobook, Zenbook, and ProArt models.
