ASUS has announced the availability of two new ROG OLED gaming monitors aimed specifically at competitive gamers. The ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace (priced at $1,099) and ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace (priced at $699) both feature extremely high refresh rates, fast response times, and a new Tandem WOLED panel designed to bring OLED picture quality to esports-focused setups.

Both monitors feature a 24.5-inch Full HD TrueBlack Glossy Tandem WOLED display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 0.02ms GTG response time. The new panel uses two stacked light-emitting layers, which ASUS says provides up to 31% higher brightness, 34% greater color volume, and as much as 63% longer lifespan compared with a conventional WOLED panel.

The displays can reach up to 1,700 nits of peak HDR brightness while covering 99.5% of the DCI-P3 color space. They also offer true 10-bit color and Delta E<2 color accuracy. ASUS has included ELMB technology as well to further improve motion clarity during fast-paced games.

What’s the biggest difference?

Specs-wise, the biggest difference between the two monitors is their refresh rate. The flagship ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace reaches 720Hz, making it the faster of the two. It also features DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 with up to 80Gbps of bandwidth and two HDMI 2.1 ports. ASUS has also included a Position Sensor that can display information such as the monitor’s height, tilt angle, and distance from the player, making it easier for esports professionals to recreate their preferred setup at different venues.

The ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace, meanwhile, offers a fast 540Hz refresh rate and uses the same Tandem WOLED technology. It features DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC alongside two HDMI 2.1 ports. Both models also include three Esports Color Modes designed for different FPS scenarios, including presets optimized for games such as Counter-Strike 2, PUBG, and Valorant.

The PG259QWS Ace will also serve as the official monitor for the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026, marking the first Counter-Strike Major to use OLED monitors. The Singapore major will take place between November 24 and December 13, so pros have less than a month to get used to the panel.
