Baldur's Gate 3 is a huge game, packed with a ton of content to sink your teeth into. But what makes it even more exciting is its massive and active modding community. Modders are always working on something new. Some mods try to fix performance issues, while others add new items or change how the game works. One of the newest is called Throw Anything, and just like the name suggests, it lets you throw almost everything you see in the game.

What exactly does the Throw Anything mod do?

Throw Anything was created by a modder named Cioco, who uploaded it to Nexus Mods on March 30. Cioco has also made a few other Baldur's Gate 3 mods, including Bardic Self-Inspiration and Mushroom Servants – Glut's Animating Spores. This new mod, however, has caught the attention of many, as it has already been downloaded over 500 times. While most players are enjoying the chaos it brings, a few did find small problems. Luckily, Cioco responded quickly and fixed the reported issues.

What makes Throw Anything special is how it removes most of the usual restrictions from the Throw action in the game. Normally, you can only throw light items or certain objects, and there are limits based on weight. But with this mod, those limits are gone. As the mod creator says, “If you can see it, you can probably throw it.” – “truly embrace the chaos and hurl just about anything”. This means you can now throw things like boots, barrels, rocks, weapons, bodies, or even giants across the map.

The mod also works with both Improvised Melee Weapon and Enraged Throw. It is, however, important to keep in mind that some items and enemies are still blocked from being thrown, but this has been done to keep things balanced, as the creator didn’t want to break the game. However, the modder has said that even those limits could be removed in the future if players ask for it. It’s worth noting that there are now two variants available:

  • Unlimited: throw anything regardless of weight.
  • Stat-based: vanilla math formula, but scales with your highest stat.

In just the past week, Cioco has already released two updates to improve the mod, and players can expect to see more updates in the coming weeks. They note that another mod used this concept, though users report it no longer works.
