EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will release on October 10th this year, and fans all over the world are excited to jump into the next installment in the popular franchise. The game will offer massive battles, destructible environments, and realistic visuals – basically everything you expect from Battlefield. While we’re months away from release, EA will be hosting an open beta for the game to give players a taste. They’ve also shared the system requirements for the open beta, so you can figure out if you need to upgrade your system.

The first open beta weekend will run from August 9th through August 10th, but some fans can start playing on August 7th if they watch partnered streamers. A second beta will be held from August 14th to August 17th, offering even more chances for players to test the game before release.

Battlefield 6 system requirements revealed

For players with budget setups, Battlefield 6 is still playable, but with limitations. At the very minimum, EA says you’ll need an RTX 2060, RX 5600 XT, or Intel A380 GPU. On the CPU side, the requirements are an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600. You’ll also need 16GB of RAM and 75GB of storage space. With this setup, you can expect to run the game at 1080p with low settings, hitting around 30 FPS. While this isn’t ideal for competitive play, it’s enough to run the game. However, loading times will be longer if you’re not using an SSD.

For a much better experience, EA recommends improving your hardware. To hit 60 FPS at high settings in 1440p, or even 80+ FPS at lower settings in 1080p, you’ll need an RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6700 XT, or Intel Arc B580 GPU, along with a Core i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X CPU. These specs also pair best with an SSD, which helps reduce load times and prevents stutter during intense battles.

It is not specified whether upscaling or frame generation is present for these performance targets, but since they aren’t mentioned, we can only assume these are specs for native performance. Devs usually disclose whenever AI enhancement features are required, which has seen games like Monster Hunter Wilds get backlash in the past.

While EA hasn’t shared the required components for 4K, we’d expect that you’ll need an RTX 4080 or a similar card, ideally paired with a high-end CPU, like the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, if you want stunning visuals and high FPS.
