Battlefield REDSEC battle royale release time, countdown clock, and gameplay trailer
Table of Contents
EA is really challenging the Call of Duty series with its latest generation of Battlefield. The launch of Battlefield 6 happened just earlier this month, and to follow it up, Battlefield REDSEC is launching later today (October 28). REDSEC is a battle royale mode which is essentially Battlefield’s answer to COD’s Warzone, and it’s completely free to play on console and PC.
The sudden annoucement will surely be a welcome boost to Battlefield 6, as the mode will be built into the game itself – you can also download and play it separately if you prefer. The latter is a necessity for free-to-play players, considering the full version of BF6 still retails for its $69.99 launch price.
When does Battlefield REDSEC launch today?
This new battle royale mode release isn’t far off a shadow drop, only officially being announced a day before it goes live. The official gameplay trailer also isn’t viewable until release time, which has been confirmed as 8 AM Pacific Time / 3 PM UTC on October 28. You can see how that looks across the world just below. Our countdown clock also makes it obvious; if you don’t see it, that means the time has arrived.
- US Pacific (PDT): 8 AM
- US Eastern (EDT): 11 AM
- United Kingdom (GMT): 3 PM
- Central Europe (CET): 4 PM
- India (IST): 8:30 PM
- Sydney, Australia (AEDT): 2 AM, October 29
- Auckland, New Zealand (NZDT): 4 AM, October 29
Battlefield REDSEC is an obvious competitor to Call of Duty: Warzone, but it isn’t the first time the Battlefield series has ventured into the battle royale genre. You may remember that Battlefield V had an official BR mode named Firestorm, so we’re excited to see how the format plays out in BF6.
FPS fans continue to wait for Call of Duty 7: Black Ops, which has already been publicly playable via its beta phase. Additionally, Activision made Black Ops 6 free-to-play during the BF6 launch week, and the same is happening now that REDSEC is coming out. For those that didn’t commit to buying BF6, the release of REDSEC will surely be a tempting option, free of charge.
