Black Friday sales are in full swing and, as always, this is one of the best times to score an OLED monitor for less. I’ve been writing about these for ages now, ever since HDMI 2.1 technology started rearing its head in fact, so I know a good monitor when I see it.
On my hunt for deals, I’ve found three OLED monitors that are all at record low prices on Amazon, and they all bring something slightly different to the table. See below for the selection, and read on for a quick breakdown of which monitor would be best for you.
Black Friday OLED monitor deals – my top three from the sales
MSI MAG 321UPX QD-OLED 32″ 4K UHD Quantum Dot OLED Gaming Monitor
SAMSUNG 27-Inch Odyssey G6 (G60SD) Series OLED Gaming Monitor
Alienware AW3423DWF Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor
Alienware AW3423DWF Curved QD-OLED – Was $899.99, Now $649.99 at Amazon
Alienware AW3423DWF Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor
Alienware monitors are some of the best on the market and deliver in both performance and aesthetics. This particular model stands out as it features a QD-OLED display, which is basically ‘one up’ from your typical OLED panel. What this means is that you get an even brighter image, which works well if you’re planning on using this is a well-lit room. It’s WQHD, which is pretty standard for any ultrawide monitor, and has 21:9 aspect ratio. That means you’ll be able to play in ultrawide settings, and thankfully, some of the best games are now playable in this too. In terms of color, you’ve got 99.3 DCI-P3 which is very good indeed, especially for this price point. Combined with DisplayHDR 400 (which is decent, but not the absolute best), you’ve got something that will make colors pop, offer very impressive contrast, and really enhance in-game visuals.

Alienware can be pretty pricey, but this is at its lowest price in sometime according to both Amazon and camelcamelcamel. It’s a great buy if you’ve got a mid to high-end PC build, or you’re looking for something great for video-editing. I’d say skip it if you’re planning on using it with a console, as many don’t support this aspect ratio, so you’ll be playing with black bars either side.
SAMSUNG 27-Inch Odyssey G6 (G60SD) Series – Was $899.99, Now $609.99 at Amazon
SAMSUNG 27-Inch Odyssey G6 (G60SD) Series OLED Gaming Monitor
An OLED monitor with a 360hz refresh rate and QHD resolution is enough reason to grab this monitor asap, but what’s really impressive here are the extra-features that make it ideal for heavy usage, particularly more competitive gaming.
This Samsung monitor goes all in to prevent burn-in, a common issue with OLED monitors in the past. It has a dyanamic cooling and thermal modulation system that work together to ensure that no specific area of the display gets too hot – greatly reducing the risk of damage. This is especially important if you’re playing games with menus on-screen for extended periods of time. There’s also a screen-saver that dims everything after 10 minutes of inactivity. Another win!
This is the type of monitor is for those playing competitively, so to keep things smooth you have FreeSync Premium Pro alongside a low response time of 0.03ms. Together, that’s everything you need to reduce screen tearing when frame-rates surge up or down – typically when there’s a lot going on in the game.
As far as design, it’s stunning, as are most Samsung monitors. The thing to notice here is the smaller base, which really helps to keep your desk space free. This is a game-changer if you’re short on space.
Overall, for the price, it’s a big win in my eyes, and once again it’s at its lowest ever on Amazon.
MSI MAG 321UPX QD-OLED – Was $899.99, Now $799.99 at Amazon
MSI MAG 321UPX QD-OLED 32″ 4K UHD Quantum Dot OLED Gaming Monitor
Finally, my pick for most people, which is also happens to be at its lowest price ever on Amazon. This is the monitor that ticks all of the boxes for any usage. It’s HDMI 2.1, so you can pair it with a PS5 or Xbox Series X for 4K at higher fps. It’s large enough for a more immersive experience, but not so large it puts you at a disadvantage when gaming competitively, say in first-person shooters. It’s also 4K, which is good if you’ve got a higher-end gaming PC.
It’s also 240hz, which is seriously impressive considering its 4K. This can allow you to play at different resolutions and fps depending on the type of game you’re playing – making it very versatile option. It’s even more versatile in design, as it’s not a ‘gamer-looking’ monitor per say. It wouldn’t look out of place in a more minimal home office in my eyes.
This is probably my pick of the three and coming in at just $799.99, this is something that you can invest in that can flex and move as you change your surrounding setup. MSI knows what its doing, and it is a very good brand to consider for monitors and much more.
How to find the best OLED monitor Black Friday deals this year
Monitor deals are always great in the Black Friday sales, so I’d suggest browsing a few different retailers like Newegg and Best Buy. In terms of what to look out for, pay close attention to the release date of the monitor itself. Some old (but okay) monitors are still hanging around in the sales and look great, but there are usually better version available for a slight increase in price.
Some of the brands I’d recommend and why are below. This should help give you an idea of what to expect before you dive into your search.
- Alienware – super highend, super stylish, expensive, but usually with good discounts
- Gigabyte – pretty good in general, not as pricey, but better for entry level setups.
- Acer – Nitro and Predator lines are both excellent for gaming.
- ASUS – TUF and ROG lines again are both brilliant for gamers.
- BENQ – better for productivity in my opinion. Quite bland designs also.
- Samsung/ LG – both pretty much the same. Loads of options and some of the best panels.
- Sony – its gaming monitors aren’t too great, but are improving.
- AOC – really good monitors, more for people who know their stuff and can appreciate the performance.
