Capcom says Resident Evil Requiem won’t have the same performance issues as Monster Hunter Wilds on PC

Monster Hunter Wilds launched in February this year, and while the game was well-received for its world design and gameplay, the PC version has struggled from the start. Players have reported all kinds of performance problems, such as stuttering, random crashes, and frame drops in busy areas. Even to this day, the recent Steam reviews are ‘Mostly Negative’.
Because of this, PC players are now worried about Capcom’s next big release, Resident Evil Requiem, which is set to launch in February next year. With both games using Capcom’s RE Engine, some fans fear that the new Resident Evil title could suffer the same problems.
Resident Evil Requiem should work across a “wide range” of PC specs
Thankfully, Capcom has responded to these concerns. In their latest financial results Q&A, the company was directly asked if Resident Evil Requiem might also face the same performance issues on PC. This question makes sense, especially since the RE Engine powers both games. However, Capcom made it clear that they do not expect the same problems to repeat.
According to Capcom, Resident Evil Requiem is very different from Monster Hunter Wilds in several key areas. They explained that the upcoming Resident Evil game differs in gameplay design, system architecture, and network features. Because of these differences, they are not anticipating similar performance issues on PC. Capcom also stated that they are working to make sure Requiem runs smoothly across a wide range of PC hardware. It seems that their goal is to deliver a stable, polished experience from day one.

Capcom also shared that Resident Evil Requiem has already received strong praise at different game shows and events. Early previews have been positive, and the company believes the new game could even surpass the initial sales of Resident Evil Village, the last main entry in the series. They added that the announcement of Requiem has already boosted sales of older Resident Evil titles, going beyond their expectations.
