Death Stranding 2 PC port could be announced during State of Play as Hideo Kojima shares another cryptic message

Fans of Death Stranding 2 are once again putting on their detective hats, and this time, confidence is high that a PC version of the game is on the way. Hideo Kojima has shared yet another cryptic message online, and many believe it lines up almost perfectly with what happened the first time around.
On February 9, Kojima posted a short message on X saying he did not have much time for “editing” that day. On its own, that doesn’t say much. However, just days earlier, he mentioned that he was editing something for the first time in eight months. That detail immediately caught the attention of longtime fans, as the original game also took 8 months to come to PC.
Death Stranding 2 on PC might follow the same pattern as the original
The original Death Stranding launched as a PlayStation exclusive in 2019 and received its PC version exactly eight months later. Its Director’s Cut followed roughly a year after launch. Because Death Stranding 2 released on PlayStation 5 in July 2025, that same eight-month window now points directly to early 2026, just in time for the next State of Play event.

The image attached to Kojima’s post only added fuel to the fire. His monitor displayed text reading “A Hideo Kojima game” in a font that looks very similar to Death Stranding 2’s branding. There was even a Death Stranding-themed calendar for 2026 just beneath the screen.
What’s even more interesting is that Sony has confirmed a new State of Play livestream scheduled for February 12. That showcase would be a perfect place to announce a PC version of one of PlayStation’s biggest recent exclusives, especially if it is tied to a Director’s Cut or enhanced release.
Additionally, in November last year, an ESRB age rating for a PC version of Death Stranding 2 briefly appeared online before being removed. While nothing official came from it, that kind of slip has often pointed to real announcements in the past. Of course, Kojima could be editing a trailer for some other project, or it could be linked to some collaboration. However, as the State of Play event will kick off tomorrow, we’ll know what’s really happening soon.
