The RTX 5090 is Nvidia’s flagship gaming GPU and remains the most powerful consumer graphics card in the company’s lineup. It launched with an MSRP of $1,999, but getting one at anything close to that price has become increasingly difficult. The situation has become even worse recently, as availability continues to drop across different retailers, though it remains in production.

Stock of the RTX 5090 has been drying up at several stores, leaving buyers with fewer options. At the same time, prices have continued to climb, especially through third-party sellers. While the GPU has regularly been listed above its MSRP since launch, some of the latest prices are taking things to another level.

We’ve been tracking the price of some RTX 5090 models on Amazon in the United States

An extreme example of RTX 5090 pricing on Amazon

One of the most extreme examples can currently be found on Amazon in the United States. The INNO3D GeForce RTX 5090 X3 OC is listed for a massive $11,565 by third-party retailer ZAR Systems Germany, hence the inflated price with delivery costs involved. This is nearly six times the RTX 5090’s $1,999 MSRP and is one of the highest prices we’ve seen yet for the flagship GPU.

Of course, an Amazon listing doesn’t necessarily mean buyers are actually paying that amount. Third-party sellers are free to set their own prices, and unusually high listings can appear when availability is extremely limited. Still, seeing an RTX 5090 cross the $10,000 mark shows just how unusual the current stock situation has become, and most models aren’t far off that milestone.

There are also rumors surrounding the possible discontinuation of the RTX 5090, but Nvidia shut them down recently, adding that it’s “very important” to keep shipping its flagship gaming GPU. Reports previously suggested that Nvidia could be reducing or ending production of the RTX 5090, maybe in favor of an RTX 5080 refresh. Nvidia also reportedly has over three million orders for its RTX Pro 5500, which uses the same GPU chip, so a shift in focus seems likelyand the company may end up shifting its entire focus to its production instead of the RTX 5090.
