Dell has launched a trio of new laptops today, on May 14. We’ve already covered the new Alienware 15 gaming laptop, so let’s move on to the two new laptops much more targeted at productivity. The Dell 14S and 16S offer a stylish metallic design thanks to their lightweight aluminum chassis, all the while delivering quieter performance. Dell has also given them the OLED treatment.
We’ve put together much of what you need to know about the new machines below – they’re highly customizable with a flurry of different options to choose from, so there’s a lot to think about. Powered by Intel’s and AMD’s latest laptop processor series.
Dell 14S and 16S specs and price details
At the moment, we are only able to find Intel variants on the official Dell Store, although the company does claim that configs offering AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processors will be available. The Intel models are available to buy right now, after releasing on May 14, starting at $1,269.99 for the Dell 14S and $1,319.99 for the Dell 16S. You can find links to the official shop below.
Specs lists available to us at the moment only go into detail regarding the Intel side of things. The top-spec model ships with an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H mobile chip, featuring a 50 TOPS NPU, 16-core design, and up to 4.9 GHz clock speed. Both the 14S and 16S are configurable down to the 6-core Intel Core Ultra 5 322, which still manages an impressive 46 TOPS with its NPU for AI.

At first glance of the specs above, you may not think there is too much separating these two aside from their screen size (and overall size of the device). The Dell 14S indeed is the more portable of the two, but the Dell 16S still offers solid portability with a thin profile and metal design that also keeps its weight down to a manageable amount.
Another important part of the design is the larger keyboard on the 16S model. It offers a full number pad, while the 14S fails to cram in (though Dell did manage to fit a number pad into its new Alienware 15 gaming laptop, a 15-inch model).
Both models offer up to 60Hz refresh rate with their OLED panel variants, though if you want a full 120Hz, then this is only available without the OLED spec. Between the two, peak brightness hits as high as 500 nits, while the OLED panel offers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut for excellent coverage, accurate colors, and deep blacks.
There are so many ways to mix and match the configurations of these two AI laptops, so we recommend heading over to the official Dell store to explore the full range of options available at the moment.
