Computex is one of the biggest events on the tech industry calendar, home to some big product reveals. Many of the biggest tech companies on the planet will be there, but here’s one which fall under the radar for you – Acemagic. They recently put out a teaser showing off some of the devices they’ll feature at the event, with one standing out among the rest. Their X1 dual-screen laptop will be revealed on June 4th at the convention in Taipei this year.
Acemagic X1 dual-screen laptop set to appear at Computex
You may have not heard of Acemagic before, but they are known for their extravagant hardware designs, such as this Sci-Fi themed mini PC. The next thing in the pipeline for them seems to be a dual-screen laptop, which will be called the X1-Dual Screen Laptop. This was announced on an Instagram post. showing off the seemingly flip-out left screen panel.
As far as a full list of specs and features, nothing has been disclosed just yet. It’s just a teaser for now, and we’ll have to wait until Computex 2024 to get further details on it. The big event takes place between June 4th and June 7th this year, and we’re all looking forward to it.
Is this the first ever dual-screen laptop?
According to Acemagic, this is the “world’s first dual-screen horizontal opening laptop”. Yes, that’s quite specific, but it’s still noteworthy. We’ve already seen more than one screen on a laptop before, but this seems to open up an interesting swinging door design, so to speak. We’ve always had the option to attach an additional screen, though this of course will require a cable to do so and Acemagic’s design is an intriguing one.
A little bit of digging around on the Computex website showcases another related laptop – this 2-in-1 Yoga with Dual Display. This is listed to be created by PiPo Technology and should also be at Computex 2024 given it was added to the site recently. Based on the imagery, it features two screens, presumably with touchscreen for the keyboard. Whether it will become of the best 2-in-1 laptops remains to be seen though.
