The 2025 Game Developers Conference (GDC 2025) kicks off today, March 17th, and there is a ton to look forward to if you’re interested in gaming or the tech industry overall. One of the biggest names to keep an eye on is Nvidia, especially as it is still working through its RTX 50 series launch, the most recent card of which is the RTX 5070. We’ve reviewed both the MSI Gaming Trio OC and ASUS TUF OC models if you want to learn more.

At the same time, GTC (Nvidia’s GPU Technology Conference) is taking place between the 17th and 21st, which makes it easy to mix them up, though they are intertwined a little bit. Regardless, both events will play host to announcements from the tech giant, so here’s everything to expect, from the official schedule to what could make a surprise appearance.

Nvidia at GDC and Nvidia at GTC in 2025 – what you need to know

GDC is focused on gaming, while GTC is focused on AI (dubbed the GTC AI Conference). Both events span the same timespan (March 17-21) and are taking place in San Francisco, CA, and San Jose, CA respectively. Hopefully, that clears up any confusion. Let’s move up to the GDC schedule first.

As you can see, the GTC 2025 keynote is reserved for Tuesday. This will be Nvidia CEO Jensen’s Huangs next keynote and people have been speculating what it will entail since it was announced on Nvidia’s website. As you may expect, there is going to be a lot of talk on AI; Nvidia’s site details that Huang will be sharing “what’s next in agentic AI, robotics, accelerated computing, and more.”

However, given the crossover with GDC week, gamers are expecting to hear more about the upcoming RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards. Previous speculation placed the reveal late last week, but now all eyes are on the GTC & GDC conferences. Nvidia has yet to mention the new 5060 family cards, but leaks have already revealed some specs, with 8GB and 16GB variations slated for the Ti model yet again.

Nvidia also says it is giving away an RTX 5090 graphics card at the Games Developer Conference. Simply stop by the Nvidia booth (Booth C1819) and enter the giveaway. It is worth noting that GDC is not an event open to the public, limiting this to game developers and industry professionals in attendance.
