Thanks to the 10-year deal between Nvidia and Microsoft, the GPU manufacturer is making it simpler to link an Xbox account to its GeForce Now streaming service. This will enable automatic sign-in for supported games without having to log in again and again.

Right after Microsoft integrated GeForce Now into its Xbox game pages, Nvidia introduced improvements for Xbox games on its cloud service. In case you missed it, the integration lets users pick between Xbox Cloud Gaming or GeForce Now when browsing game listings. And with the new auto-sign-in, the two companies are making it even more seamless for users to access games.

Sign in with Xbox profile for once to skip future logins

In the official blog post by Nvidia, the company stated that it was making things more convenient for members by letting them link their gaming accounts directly to the cloud service.

This new auto sign-in feature will go live on August 22nd, which is tomorrow. Users will have to link their Xbox profiles, which means they won’t have to sign in again for all future GeForce Now sessions. Once linked, users will be able to get quick access to supported Xbox games like Forza Horizon 5 and Fallout 76.

Along with Xbox, the same feature will be available for other platforms soon. At the moment, the automatic sign-in is available for Epic Games and Ubisoft.

In addition to quicker login, members will benefit from Xbox game library sync on GeForce Now. This feature enables members to seamlessly sync their supported Xbox Game Pass and Microsoft Store games to their cloud streaming library. This means members can enjoy a more unified gaming experience with the ability to instantly play over 140 Xbox Game Pass titles across various devices.

GeForce Now, Nvidia’s cloud gaming platform, keeps adding new video games almost every week. This month, the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws, Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks, Visions of Mana, and other games will be added to GeForce Now.

Fans say it’s about time

Reaction to the news to great – why wouldn’t it be? In this Reddit thread, one user says that the lack of auto-login is “one of the most complained-about things about this service”.

While it might not sound like the biggest pain in the world, remember that many people stream Xbox games via GeForce now while playing on a controller – that means logging in using a UI keyboard rather than a physical one. We’ll end with this comment: “OMG, finally! It was so tiresome to login using controller”.
