At Gamescom’s Opening Night show, the rumors that Halo Infinite would be releasing on December 8th were confirmed, as both campaign and multiplayer will be available at the start of December.

As with all Microsoft first-party games from the last couple of years, the massive title will be hitting Xbox Game Pass on both console, cloud, and PC. So wherever you want to play, as long as you have the subscription, it’ll be available to you.

The game is now up for pre-order and pre-install, so you can load it as soon as it releases.

Cooperative play and Halo’s Forge Mode will not be launching alongside the game, limiting the creativity that the series has boasted since Halo 3 in 2007. Halo 5 cut co-op play out altogether, as the Xbox One console could not run it.

The multiplayer will be free-to-play, while those stuck on Xbox One, for the time being, will be able to play Halo Infinite over the cloud streaming service included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so you won’t be left out.

We don’t usually cover games on PC Guide, not in the traditional sense, but with Windows 11 including the Xbox App and Game Pass becoming an integral part of what we do cover, making games available to the masses with the lump sum, we think it’s only fair to keep you updated.

Of course, should you buy an Xbox Series X or a PC to play Master Chief’s latest outing? Or do should be looking at our build recommendations for getting the game as best as it could ever be?

We have build recommendations for everyone, including budget builds to ridiculous builds!

Worried your PC might not be up to scratch? Well, take a look at the system requirements for Halo Infinite.

Microsoft also announced a limited edition Xbox Series X to mark the occasion and a very cool-looking controller, but then I saw the price and my jaw almost dropped to the floor. Expect to see it on eBay for a marked-up price in the next few months, as it appears to be completely sold out.

If you want to see where you could possibly still buy a Halo Infinite Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller, we’ve got you covered.
