The upcoming ASUS ROG Ally X looks to be the very next gaming PC handheld to hit the market and it’s a refreshed version of the original that launched last year. Ahead of a live stream where ASUS will preview the new device, some leaked renders have surfaced, confirming a number of specs alongside. Interestingly enough, it is referred to as the ‘ROG Ally 2’, though the details match that of what we’ve come to expect from the Ally X.
These leaked renders seem to confirm that the new model will indeed use a black design rather than the current model’s white. We previously got a small sneak peek from ASUS themselves a few weeks ago which suggested this, but now it seems all but confirmed.
First ASUS ROG Ally X images leaked
Thanks to a post on X from LipaLegacy, we can now get a closer look at the new handheld device. Again, it will be sporting a black shell, otherwise retaining a largely similar design. It’s the internal hardware that sees most improvements, with a bigger battery on the way being one of the most notable changes.
Below are a couple of the leaked renders, which are sadly not the highest resolution, but still enough to grasp what it’ll look like.
What about the specs?
ASUS hasn’t exactly done a great job of keeping the new specs a secret, if they really ever intended to in the first place. We recently got confirmation of the ROG Ally X specs, albeit not from ASUS directly. Now this new leak only solidifies what we already know and will more than likely be what ASUS delivers come their big reveal on June 2nd.
Below, we’ve put together a list of the known specs so far, with these leaked renders providing a couple of extra details such as brightness and color gamut.
