Pre-orders for the Intel Arc Pro B50 GPU (the one below the Pro B60) have just been launched. This is the company’s new workstation graphics card built on the latest Battlemage architecture. Unlike Intel’s gaming-focused cards, like the Arc B580 and Arc B570, this one is designed for professional use, targeting tasks like AI workloads, design, engineering, and content creation. So if you’re looking for a gaming GPU, your efforts are better directed elsewhere.

The Arc Pro B50 is built around the BMG-G21 GPU and comes with 16 Xe2 cores, paired with 16GB of GDDR6 memory running at 14 Gbps. The memory sits on a 128-bit bus, with a total memory bandwidth of 224 GB/s. The GPU runs at a maximum boost clock of 2,600 MHz and has a board power of just 70W. Because of its low power usage, it doesn’t need an external power connector, as it’s powered entirely through the PCIe slot.

What does the Intel Arc Pro B50 offer?

For professionals, the Arc Pro B50 offers some important advantages. Intel claims it can deliver up to 170 TOPS of INT8 compute, making it suitable for local AI work. It also supports DisplayPort 2.1, has four mini DisplayPort outputs, and includes hardware AV1 decoding for video editors. Performance benchmarks shared by Intel even show the B50 outperforming the Nvidia RTX A1000.

Now, the good news is that pre-orders for the Arc Pro B50 are now live. You can grab the GPU from both B&H and Newegg for $349, which matches Intel’s official MSRP. While B&H hasn’t listed a shipping date yet, Newegg has confirmed that the card will officially release on September 18, and we expect it to start shipping on the same day.

At $349, the Arc Pro B50 is a very affordable option in the workstation GPU market, but prices often increase once stock becomes limited. For now, if you’re interested in picking one up, pre-ordering may be the safest way to get the card at launch price. The flagship gaming card, the Intel Arc B580, settled well above MSRP for a long time, but it’s starting to get more affordable again.
