Nine months have passed since Intel launched its latest series of GPUs. Battlemage, also known as the ‘B-series’ currently exists of the budget-friendly Arc B580 and Arc B570 graphics cards. We’ve reviewed them both (including multiple B580s), and while they’re great for 1080p and can push for 1440p gaming, Intel fans might want something a little more powerful.

A true success to last gen’s Arc A770 seems to be the next logical step, and rumors of a B770 have been floating around the web ever since Battlemage was unveiled. The latest development is shipping details that reveals packaging for Intel’s next GPU. No specific model name has been revealed yet, but it could be the B770 fans have been asking for.

Intel’s next GPU is expected to have an upgraded die

The development comes in the form of NBD Data shipping manifests. There are several references to Battlemage and the rumored BMG-G31 die , which would serve as a higher-end version of the BMG-G21 die currently featured on the existing gaming GPUs, as well as the Intel Arc Pro B50 and B60 for workstations.

The shipping manifest spotted by @Haze2K1 on X is actually dated for June. Nevertheless, the GPU die size looks to be a close equivalent to the existing BMG-G21, but while there may not much of a difference in the physical size, BMG-G21 is expected to pack in more cores, with some reports of the B770 featuring 32 Xe2 cores and 16GB of VRAM.

Right now, the flagship B580 features 20 Xe2 cores backed by 12GB of GDDR6 memory and a 192-bit memory bus. Rumors suggest the B770 will have a larger 256-bus width, which would match the RTX 5070 Ti and RX 9070 XT, the latter of which also features 16GB of GDDR6 memory; Nvidia has already made the jump to GDDR7.

We’re excited to see what Intel’s next graphics card will be, and with all clues pointing towards a more powerful SKU, we hope to see the Intel Arc B770 become a reality soon. Battlemage was announced on December 3, 2024, so you could speculate a new addition to be unveiled within a similar timeframe.
