Intel’s new CEO reportedly won’t speak at Computex this year

In the CPU space, Intel didn't really have any groundbreaking innovations in 2024, and while their Intel Arc B-Series GPUs at the very end of the year did manage to keep the company afloat, the damage had already been quite significant with their latest processors. As a result, Intel's former CEO Pat Gelsinger left the company, and Lip-Bu Tan was appointed as the new CEO, who we already know is reportedly planning a big shakeup.
However, apart from the opening keynote of Intel Vision, we haven't heard much from the new CEO regarding the future of Intel and its plans to ditch its “learned helplessness” culture. And it seems like it's going to stay that way, as the new CEO is reportedly not scheduled to deliver a keynote at Computex 2025, one of the largest computer exhibitions in Taiwan, which will be attended by many technology giants, including Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang.
But we'll be hearing Lip-Bu Tan's views elsewhere
According to supply chain information, Intel is said to be holding a 40th anniversary dinner in Taiwan in mid-May, ahead of Computex, where Intel's new CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, is expected to meet in person with supply chain partners for the first time and share his views on the industry outlook during the dinner.
The report also adds that the CEO's itinerary has not been finalized yet, meaning we have no clue when he will be arriving in Taiwan, how long he will be staying, or which supply chain partners are expected to attend the dinner with him. So while the CEO may not be touring Computex directly, this information does suggest that we might still get to hear more about the company's plans.
Computex this year takes place between May 20th and 23rd, with some of the tech industry’s biggest companies already pencilled in. For example, we already know when Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will deliver his keynote speech this year. And while Lip-Bu Tan may not take to the Computex stage, Intel will certainly feature at the event, with Intel’s AI Marketing VP, Nuri Cankaya, already confirmed for a speech on Generative AI.
