The Ryzen 7 9800X3D was released in November this year, and fans have been eagerly waiting for more 9000X3D CPUs to hit the market. While AMD has not shared details about the remaining processors, the company is expected to reveal them during CES 2025, which kicks off on January 7. Meanwhile, the specifications of the 9950X3D, the flagship model in the series, have been leaked through a CPU-Z screenshot.

Ryzen 9 9950X3D specifications leaked

The CPU-Z screenshot was shared by Huang514613 on X, previously known as Twitter. Although the image does not explicitly mention the name of the processor, it provides key details such as the Granite Ridge architecture and a 16-core, 32-thread configuration. These specifications align with what is expected of the 9950X3D, suggesting that this is indeed the flagship CPU from the 9000X3D lineup.

The most interesting detail from the screenshot is that the 9950X3D appears to share similar specifications with the non-X3D model, the 9950X. Typically, AMD reduces the core clock speeds on some X3D chips, but this doesn’t seem to be the case with the 9950X3D.

The CPU-Z screenshot reveals that the 9950X3D offers a boost clock of 5.65 GHz (56.5 multiplier). This suggests that the CPU either matches the boost clock of the non-X3D model, the 9950X, or it might support overclocking just like the 9800X3D. It also has a TDP of 170W, which is the same as the 9950X. This means the 9950X3D will provide similar productivity performance due to the same clock speeds but offer better gaming performance because of its larger cache. The processor will offer two CCDs, each with 8 cores and 32 MB of dedicated L3 cache. Additionally, one of the CCDs will have an extra 64 MB 3D V-cache layer. This brings the total cache to 144 MB (L3 + L2).

In any case, CES 2025 is just a few days away, and we’ll soon learn more about what the upcoming X3D CPUs have to offer. The launch of the 9800X3D was a huge success, with the CPU selling out within minutes at major retailers. Even these days, it’s difficult to find.
