Alongside its upgrade and introduction of the RTX 5080 to GeForce Now, Nvidia is expanding its cloud gaming service to more devices and hardware. A highlight of which is bringing better resolutions to LG OLED monitors, but more interestingly, they are giving LG TVs the world’s first to stream 4K at 120Hz with HDR capabilities through the native app on supported devices.

It is limited to supported TVs, ones capable of running 4K 120 and being able to install the GeForce Now app. It also requires GeForce Now Ultimate, which enables the use of 4K resolution and higher framerates, thanks to being the tier that actually features the RTX 5080 models in its servers.

Crucially, this doesn’t require any additional hardware and will let you enjoy fast-paced gaming natively on your TV. Additionally, extending support for peripherals makes gaming on your TV more comfortable, and with this upgrade, it now offers an even better experience.

Supported models and the cost

In its initial release onto LG TVs, GeForce Now has been supported by a list of models released in the past few years. However, with this upgrade, you’ll want a 4K TV with a 120Hz refresh rate, which includes the likes of the latest-gen LG C5 OLED and LG G5 OLED televisions. While a list of TVs that support 4K 120Hz cloud gaming has yet to be confirmed, Nvidia suggested in a pre-brief meeting that support may be limited to 2025 and 2026 LG TV models.

As for the LG OLED monitors, those are now able to stream in ultra-high 5K resolutions (5120×2880) when using a Windows or macOS device, without any additional hardware. Since even the Mac client is receiving the Blackwell upgrades that allow for these improved performances.

The pricing of the GeForce Now is remaining the same, even with the RTX 5080 rollout in September. It will only be available on the Ultimate tier, which costs $19.99 per month or $99.99 for six months.
