The developers behind Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls know they have a lot of work to do after the game’s troubled PC launch. While the fighting game has received a more positive response for its actual gameplay, technical problems on PC have caused frustration among players, and the team admits that winning back their trust will not be easy.
Speaking to VGC, producer Takeshi Yamanaka said the team has been happy to see players enjoying the game’s combat on console and PC when everything works properly. Players have been spending time in matches, practicing in training mode, creating combos, and sharing their gameplay online.
However, the PC version has suffered from several technical problems since launch. Yamanaka apologized to players and confirmed that the team is actively working on fixing the issues. Two urgent patches have already been released, with the latest update significantly improving the game’s CPU processing load.

There are still problems that need to be addressed, though. The game’s launch reception on Steam reflects the situation, with only 47% of English-language reviews currently recommending it. Marvel Tokon also reached more than 24,000 concurrent players around launch, but its daily concurrent player count has since dropped to around 4,000.
When asked how the team plans to rebuild trust among players who were affected by the PC problems, Yamanaka was unusually direct. He admitted that regaining those players’ confidence would be an “extremely challenging” task.
The developer acknowledged that some players were unable to properly experience the game and may have decided to leave or refund it. He apologized to those users and said the team understands how much damage the situation has caused.
For now, the developers are focusing on fixing the remaining problems and improving the PC version. Yamanaka said the team wants to create an experience that is better than the one available at launch and hopes its continued efforts will eventually convince players to return.
