In 2017, the Paint 3D app was introduced in Windows 10, and it was intended to be a successor to the original Paint app that has been around since 1985. As the name suggests, the Paint 3D app aims to help users create 2D as well as 3D art projects.,
However, as pointed out by a user on X (Twitter), Paint 3D will be discontinued later this November and will not be available for download.
Paint 3D to go off the Microsoft Store in November
As per the X user, the Paint 3D app is currently displaying a banner that says, “Paint 3D won't be available in the Microsoft Store or receive any future updates starting from November 4th, 2024.”

Simply put, Microsoft has decided to pull the plug on the Paint 3D application. After November 4th, Windows users will not be able to download the app from Microsoft Store. Further, it seems like users who already have the app on their PCs can still use it, but the app won't get any updates.
In any case, it looks like users still prefer the classic version – Paint – to the newer one. This is why, even though Paint 3D was introduced, computers still have the classic Paint on them by default.
Interestingly, the classic Paint application has gotten major upgrades over the years, with the latest one being the AI-powered Cocreator feature, which Copilot users can make use of. In addition to this, Paint also received some advanced features, like layers, which was something exclusive to Paint 3D. It is a possibility that the classic Paint might get another major upgrade with more features from Paint 3D.
In any case, Paint 3D users who create 3D art projects on the app will have to look for a replacement soon. Some of the popular programs for 3D modeling include Blender, AutoDesk 3DS, and ZBrush.
