Sony raised the price of the PS5, PS5 Pro, and PS Portal in the US and a few other regions a few weeks ago, and now those price hikes are expanding further around the world. This time, we’re heading to the East, as changes are hitting Southeast Asia, along with Korea, with several countries seeing noticeable increases across the console lineup.

PlayStation 5 price changes in Korea and Southeast Asia

In an official blog post, Sony confirmed that the new Korean prices will take effect on May 1, 2026. Other affected regions include Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Here are the new prices across key regions for the standard PS5, Digital Edition, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal:

Korea

  • PS5: 948,000 won
  • PS5 Digital Edition: 858,000 won
  • PS5 Pro: 1,298,000 won
  • PlayStation Portal: 378,000 won

Singapore

  • PS5: SGD 849
  • PS5 Digital Edition: SGD 764
  • PS5 Pro: SGD 1,167
  • PlayStation Portal: SGD 347

Malaysia

  • PS5: MYR 2,799
  • PS5 Digital Edition: MYR 2,499
  • PS5 Pro: MYR 3,999
  • PlayStation Portal: MYR 1,099

Thailand

  • PS5: THB 20,990
  • PS5 Digital Edition: THB 18,790
  • PS5 Pro: THB 30,990
  • PlayStation Portal: THB 8,380

Indonesia

  • PS5: IDR 11,399,000
  • PS5 Digital Edition: IDR 9,999,000
  • PlayStation Portal: IDR 5,199,000

The Philippines

  • PS5: PHP 40,032

Vietnam

  • PS5: VND 16,900,000

Looking at the price changes, the increase is not small. For example, in Singapore, the standard PS5 has gone from SGD 799 to SGD 849, which is about a 6.3% increase. The Digital Edition saw an even bigger jump, rising from SGD 669 to SGD 764, which is a 14.2% increase. The PS5 Pro and PlayStation Portal also saw hikes of around 9% and 17%, respectively.

Sony says these changes are due to “global economic pressures,” but this ties closely to the ongoing memory crisis affecting the tech industry. The cost of key components like memory chips has gone up significantly, making it more expensive for manufacturers to produce hardware. This has already impacted GPUs, RAM, and even handheld devices, and now consoles are feeling the same pressure.
