Nintendo hosted a special Direct yesterday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. The presentation was focused entirely on the Zelda franchise, but Nintendo isn’t done with big announcements this September. Another Nintendo Direct will take place today, September 9, and this time, the company will focus on a much wider range of upcoming games.

Nintendo Directs are all about sharing upcoming games, release dates, trailers, DLC, and sometimes completely new projects. Some Directs focus on a single franchise, while general Directs cover several games coming to Nintendo’s platforms. Today’s presentation will be one of those general showcases, with Nintendo expected to reveal more about what’s coming to its consoles.

What time does the September 2026 Nintendo Direct start?

The September 2026 Nintendo Direct will begin today, September 9, at 7 AM PT. You’ll need to account for time zone differences, so we’ve put together a list of different regions below to help you out. We’ve also got our countdown clock down below; it will disappear once it expires, so if you don’t see one, then the show has already gone live.

  • Los Angeles – 7 AM PT
  • New York – 10 AM ET
  • London – 3 PM BST
  • Berlin – 4 PM CEST
  • Mumbai – 7:30 PM IST
  • Tokyo – 11 PM JST
  • Sydney – 12 AM AEST (September 10)
  • Auckland – 2 AM NZST (September 10)

Nintendo has confirmed that the presentation will run for around 45 minutes and will be streamed through its official YouTube and Twitch channels.

What to expect from the Nintendo Direct

Nintendo hasn’t revealed the full lineup for today’s Direct, but the company has indicated that the presentation will focus mainly on games arriving in 2026, particularly titles planned for this winter. Yesterday, the biggest news was the ground-up Ocarina of Time remake, which launches this November, so we can only hope to see something just as exciting.

There are several games that could make an appearance. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and Xenoblade Genesis are among the announced Switch 2 games that could receive new trailers or additional details.

There are also rumors surrounding a new 2D Metroid game reportedly called Metroid Ravenous. The title has appeared in recent leaks, and today’s Direct could potentially be where Nintendo finally makes it official. The Duskbloods is also another game worth keeping an eye on. The game has been linked to an October release, but an exact date has yet to be confirmed. If it is still planned for this year, today’s showcase would be a good place to provide an update.

Nintendo could also share new content for Mario Kart World. There has been speculation about DLC, including new tracks and other additions, although nothing has been officially confirmed. And despite yesterday’s presentation being entirely dedicated to Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake could appear again. The game is launching in November, making it one of Nintendo’s major releases for the holiday period.
