Nvidia GPU brand Galax denies reports it’s going out of business for the second time this year
Table of Contents
Yesterday, an exclusive report from the Spanish-language publication El Chapuzas Informático made claims that Nvidia-exclusive GPU brand Galax is shutting down operations due to a shortage of Nvidia chips. Now, the company has come out to confirm that this rumor is false, noting that “Galax continues to operate as usual” alongside its owner, Palit. Galax is also known as KFA2 in European branding.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard Galax refute claims of shutting down. Earlier this year, the company published a statement to say, “Our legendary GPU lineups aren’t going anywhere” after brand management shifts. Either way, it seems the brand will continue trucking along, in an uncertain time for GPU manufacturers (with RTX 5090 orders reportedly stalled).

Rumor had it, “according to industry sources,” that Galax was shutting down operations due to a lack of supply from parent company Palit. The waning supply of Nvidia chips has been called into question lately, especially with Team Green reportedly receiving over 3 million orders for its server-focused RTX Pro 5500, leaving minimal stock left for the flagship RTX 5090, as both are based on Nvidia’s GB202 GPU.
