Phantom Blade Zero was first announced back in 2023, and since then, the upcoming action RPG has attracted plenty of attention thanks to its fast-paced martial arts combat and impressive visuals. And after more than three years of waiting, players will finally be able to experience S-Game’s latest title today. It launches on PlayStation 5 and PC at the same time.

What is Phantom Blade Zero all about?

Phantom Blade Zero is an action RPG that combines traditional Wuxia storytelling and martial arts with a darker fantasy setting that the developer describes as “kungfupunk.

Players take control of Soul, a warrior who is framed for murdering his master and suffers a devastating injury to his heart. He is left with only 66 days to live and must use his remaining time to uncover the conspiracy surrounding him while surviving attacks from assassins hunting him.

Players can master more than 30 primary weapons alongside over 20 Phantom Edges obtained from defeated enemies. Battles revolve around chaining attacks together while dodging, deflecting, countering, and finding the right opportunity to strike. The combat is inspired by real Chinese martial arts, with experienced Wuxia choreographers helping create its movements.

Exploration is also a big part of the game. The Phantom World contains hidden paths for you to discover, along with mysteries that need to be solved. On top of that, you’ll also meet different characters with interesting stories.
