Five years later, the RTX 3060 is still one of Nvidia’s most popular graphics cards. Its 12GB of VRAM and affordable price made it a fan favorite for budget gamers who wanted solid 1080p and 1440p gaming performance. While successors have arrived since then, the RTX 3060 can still holds its own. Now, it the card is making a sudden return in some regions.
According to reports from China, Nvidia board partner Colorful has started shipping brand-new batches of RTX 3060 12GB graphics cards to retailers. The model currently appearing on store shelves is the Colorful Battle-Ax GeForce RTX 3060 DUO 12GB V2. This card was originally discontinued in 2024, but fresh inventory is now reaching sales channels.
RTX 3060 has been re-released in China
The return appears to be tied to the ongoing GPU supply situation. Newer graphics cards can be difficult to find at reasonable prices in certain markets, and the RTX 3060 still offers one advantage that many budget gamers appreciate: 12GB of VRAM. That is 4GB more memory than newer mainstream GPUs, including the RTX 4060 and RTX 5060.

However, availability is currently limited, as some regions have received only a few dozen units during the first shipment. Weekly restocks are reportedly planned, which could help improve supply over the next several weeks. For now, though, buyers may have a difficult time finding one due to the small initial batch.
What’s interesting is that the RTX 3060 is reportedly being sold through distribution channels for around 2,199 yuan, which works out to roughly $325. Some retail listings are even higher, reaching around $347 when converted.
While the RTX 3060 still offers plenty of VRAM for modern games and creative workloads, buyers should keep performance expectations in mind. The RTX 5060, despite having less memory, delivers noticeably better gaming performance in most scenarios – and has access to all DLSS 4 features. Still, for users who prioritize VRAM capacity or are upgrading an older system, the RTX 3060’s return could provide another option during a time when GPU availability remains unpredictable.
