It’s a great time to be thinking about your next GPU if you’re in the market for an upgrade. Nvidia’s next generation of graphics cards is closer than ever and new rumors point towards a flurry of releases in the first quarter of 2025. While Nvidia is yet to officially confirm any of these details, it puts us one step closer to understanding the RTX 50 series release date.

So far, we’ve seen some leaked specs for the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, with less currently known about the cheaper SKUs. However, it has now been suggested that the RTX 5070 could launch in February, while the 5060 may arrive as soon as March.

Potential launch dates for the 50 series

No specific dates have been given, but a few release date windows have been revealed. According to a thread on Board Channels, the release date is “basically determined”. It reveals that the first three months of next year will have GPU launches from Team Green.

Rumored release date windows

  • RTX 5090 / 5090D / 5080: January 2025
  • RTX 5070 / 5070 Ti: February 2025
  • RTX 5060 / 5060 Ti: March 2025

As you can see from the image above, the initial batch with the two high-end models is rumored to be launched at CES 2025 (which takes place in Las Vegas between January 7th – 10th). A little later than what we witnessed with the current 40 series, but nothing too unusual. As expected, there will likely be no Super variants planned this early on.

The March release window for the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti is an interesting one though. Last gen, this mid-range option was left for later on in the year. For reference, the RTX 4060 Ti was initially released in May, followed by the 4060 in June and a 16GB version of the former in July. We would have expected a similar pattern this time around, but that may not be the case.
