Table of Contents
The NVIDIA RTX 5070 release date is today, and we’ve got all the listings of where to buy it from the major online retailers across various global regions. The RTX 5070 Ti release has already been and gone, and this card went out of stock in a matter of minutes – we assume the pattern will repeat itself with this card so make sure you don’t miss out!
Although in the independent benchmarking and reviews of both the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti, they didn’t quite live up to the hype Nvidia created, they’re still both very solid cards in terms of both hardware-driven performance and especially with great when utilizing the latest DLSS 4, multi-frame generation technology. Both cards may have stiff competition from the Radeon RX 9700 XT, however, which is due to release tomorrow (click the link for our where to buy on that AMD card).

Nvidia RTX 5070 release date
The Nvidia RTX 5070 release date is today! i.e. the 5th March, 2025, and it’s due to release at 6AM US PT / 9AM US ET / 2PM GMT (Nvidia hasn’t officially confirmed this but every card they’ve put out in recent memory has come out at the same time). If you want to see the time tick by before your eyes, check out our RTX 5070 release time & countdown clock page.
However, there is a big caveat to the above, as Nvidia has confirmed in an email that the Founders Edition of the card will not be available on this date – just the various AIBs. The company said that ‘the RTX 5070 Founders Edition will be available later in March’ with no further details as to when, so if you’re after this card specifically then watch this space!

Nvidia RTX 5070 pre order explained & price info
Pre-orders in the traditional sense of the phrase aren’t really a thing for Nvidia GPUs. That is to say, you can’t usually buy an Nvidia GPU before the release date to secure yourself one of them before stocks run out – you’ll need to keep your mouse finger ready as the release time approaches and order yours as fast as you can before stocks run out.
That being said, various retailers like Overclockers UK do still advertise ‘Nvidia RTX 5070 pre orders’, which are essentially just ways of signing up to email alerts to let you know when the GPUs are in stock. Best Buy offers a similar service, including email or app-based notifications. Ultimately though your best bet is just to find the AIB you want on this page, bookmark said page and set up an account beforehand with all your card details at these retailers, then buy them as fast as possible when they do release.
In terms of pricing, the RTX 5070 Ti was supposed to hit the shelves for an MSRP of $749/£729 (a Founders Edition of the card was not forthcoming, but this was the starting price for the AIBs), but given it sold out almost immediately, when it has temporarily come back in stock since we’ve seen substantial price inflation, as demand exceeds supply.
It’s likely that we’ll see a similar thing play out with the RTX 5070 as well. Even though the Founders Edition of this card (which will be coming out, though not immediately) is priced with an MSRP of $549/£549, we expect significant price fluctuations across retailers after the original batch goes out of stock (which likely won’t take long).
RTX 5070 Ti (MSRP on launch) | RTX 4070 Ti (MSRP on launch) | RTX 5070 (MSRP on launch) | RTX 4070 (MSRP on launch) |
$749 | $799 | $549 | $599 |
How well do the RTX 5070 & 5070 Ti perform?
The RTX 5070 Ti reviews are out and the verdict is that the card performs slightly better than an RTX 4070 Ti Super, about as well as an RTX 4080 (with DLSS disabled). With the latest Multi-Frame Generation tech though you also do get a massive performance boost on top of this so if you can get one at a decent price it can be worth the money – definitely if you’re upgrading from a 30-series card.
It’s a similar story with the RTX 5070 reviews, which put the performance with DLSS disabled at about on par with the RTX 4070 Super – slightly disappointing given Nvidia’s claims at near-RTX 4090 performance, but still a solid card (if you can get one for a good price).
