CES 2025 has kicked off, and all eyes were on Nvidia after AMD. And just at the start, Team Green showcased footage with real-time rendering using an RTX Blackwell GPU. While the serene visuals were seriously impressive, what caught our eye was the use of DLSS 4

DLSS 4 brings massive performance gains

The RTX 50-series graphics cards have been announced and can use DLSS 4, which offers up to 8x better performance, taking the in-game experience to the next level. DLSS 3 was already powerful as it enabled the RTX 4090 to rip through Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K with Ray Tracing enabled and delivered 133 FPS in our RTX 4090 review.

At launch, 75 games will support DLSS 4, and Nvidia also has a video showcasing the difference between DLSS generations. Enabling DLSS 2 in Cyberpunk 2077 increased the frame rate to 71, while DLSS 3.5 managed to double it to 140 FPS. However, with DLSS 4 enabled, the FPS went up to 247, which is nothing short of impressive. If you’re wondering which titles support DLSS 4, we’ve got you covered.

So, we’re excited to see what the next generation of DLSS brings to the table and how far it can push the Blackwell architecture. It seems that with each iteration, stable 4K gaming is getting easier, and solid 8K gaming doesn’t seem to be too far-fetched of an idea. One thing to note is that like AMD’s new FSR 4, which only works with the new RX 9000 GPUs, the Multi Frame Generation of DLSS 4 will only work with the 50-series, so to experience this, you’ll have to invest in a new graphics card. Nvidia also claims that RTX 5070 will offer similar performance to the 4090, and this might be all thanks to DLSS 4.
