Many analysts and PC gaming enthusiasts have been vocal in their belief that the key to AMD gaining ground in this GPU generation will be price. News out of China where the price of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 series has already been revealed could be a good sign.

Ongoing supply issues, inflated reseller prices, and manufacturing faults have been plaguing the Nvidia RTX 50 series launch. This has prompted some to hope that perhaps AMD can challenge the dominance of Team Green.

RX 9070 and RX 9070 China pricing announced

Over in China, the price of the highly anticipated Radeon RX 9070 series has already been announced, and the numbers have taken some by surprise. The AMD announcement in China indicated 4999 RMB for the 9070 XT, and 4499 RMB for the non-XT model.

Users on Twitter/X such as Tomasz Gawroński were quick to do the math and discovered this equated to $599 USD for the 9070 XT, and $549 for the non-XT.

Though these figures do not have tax applied, this price puts it at roughly $150 less than the MSRP of the RX 9070 XT's main rival, the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti. It should be noted that the price to customers will depend greatly on available stock levels.

As Twitter user Silvio Cantero said: “They MUST have good supply otherwise it’s going to backfire pretty bad, I’m not paying 100$ over MSRP, no way. Let’s see in a few hours what they have prepared for us.”

Though the RX 9070 XT looks good on paper, with specs that can easily match up to the RTX 5070 Ti, we have yet to see how well it performs in a head-to-head match up against its rivals. A great deal will depend on how well software such as FSR 4 performs in real-world scenarios and how much AMD has focused on raster in contrast to Nvidia.
