AMD confirms RX 9070 series “pricing and performance” will finally be revealed, here’s where to watch
Table of Contents
AMD’s RX 9070 series has a lot of eyes on it, and part of the credit goes to Nvidia and their RTX 50 series GPUs, which haven’t been able to give gamers what they wanted. With issues piling up for the RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs, it seems like AMD certainly has a golden opportunity to turn green team users into red. However, AMD has been keeping their upcoming GPUs behind curtains, as until now, we haven’t had anything official apart from an early March launch window confirmed by the CEO.
AMD’s Frank Azor has taken to X to advertise the RDNA 4 reveal on Friday, February 28th. This unveiling will go live at 8 AM ET / 7 AM CT / 5 AM PT on the AMD Gaming YouTube channel and will answer all our pricing and performance questions regarding the upcoming GPUs.
We already knew that the event would be taking place at this event, though it remained a mystery as to what exactly would be revealed. While you could probably guess that pricing was part of that, it’s now nice to see it officially confirmed. In the post on X, Azor confirms that “All your pricing and performance questions will soon be answered” and thanks fans for their patience.

RX 9070 XT expected to be better than the 5070 Ti
While the red team might have tried their best to keep the RX 9070 series GPUs a mystery, leaks and rumors have still managed to find a way out. From these, we’ve been able to form a rough idea of what the upcoming GPUs might offer, and the latest leaks suggest that the flagship in the series could pull slightly ahead of its direct competitor, the RTX 5070 Ti. On top of that, leaked 3DMark tests show the RX 9070 XT outperforming last-gen Nvidia GPUs, scoring 14,591 points – 1,253 higher than the RTX 4080 and 497 points higher than the RTX 4080 Super.
That said, one major hot topic with Nvidia’s RTX 50 series is the new DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Gen technologies, along with a range of other AI improvements that help these GPUs perform better. But AMD also has a few tricks up its sleeves, which we have seen in the form of their improved FSR 4. In fact, a hands-on preview showed that FSR 4 offers much more detailed and refined image quality compared to the sometimes blurry, undefined visuals of FSR 3.1.
Most people are willing to spend between $500 and $600
Specifications have shown that the RDNA 4-based GPUs are going to offer a pretty close challenge to Nvidia’s RTX 50 series, but what could make or break this launch for the red team is the pricing. We recently ran a poll asking gamers what they are willing to spend on the RX 9070 series GPUs, and most people hope to pay between $500 and $600. We're not sure if this is where AMD will price these GPUs, but on the bright side, the company did say it is listening to feedback on RX 9070 series pricing.
With so much falling under the ‘leaked and rumor’ tags regarding the RX 9070 series, it’s great to see AMD finally stepping in to clear things up. The big question now is whether AMD will manage to check all the boxes for gamers and grab a big chunk of Nvidia’s GPU market share, or will mid-range gamers be left empty-handed by yet another major manufacturer?
