AMD fans are currently looking forward to the brand’s Radeon RX 9070 cards, namely the RX 9070 & 9070 XT. While AMD has confirmed that the cards will launch in early March, the price tags have not been revealed yet. Right now, people are relying on rumors and leaks for pricing details.

AMD did say it is “listening” to feedback on RX 9070 series pricing, but they have not revealed any specific numbers. Since the price is still a mystery, tech YouTuber TechEpiphany on X ran a poll to see how much people are willing to pay for the RX 9070 XT.

How much will people pay for the RX 9070 XT?

Since the price is still a mystery, TechEpiphany on X ran a poll to see how much people are willing to pay for the RX 9070 XT. So far, the ongoing poll has received 2,275 votes, and here are the results at the time of writing:

  • 42.4% of people are willing to pay $599+
  • 41.3% of people are willing to pay $499+
  • 12.2% of people are willing to pay $699+
  • Only 4.1% are willing to pay $799+

How will the RX 9070 XT perform?

Leaks suggest that the RX 9070 XT could perform as well as, or even better than, the RTX 4080. A leaked 3DMark Time Spy Extreme test shows the RX 9070 XT scoring 14,591 points, which is:

  • 1,253 points higher than the RTX 4080
  • 497 points higher than the RTX 4080 Super

In another test, 3DMark Speed Way, the RX 9070 XT scored 6,345 points, which is 844 points higher than the RTX 4070 Ti. Based on this, the 9070 XT could be slower than the RTX 5080 but faster than the RTX 4070 Ti Super, which kind of makes it a direct competitor to the RTX 5070 Ti. For those who don’t know, this GPU is scheduled to launch with an MSRP of $749, and to stay competitive, we suggest that AMD should price the RX 9070 XT around $100 cheaper.

Other early tests, however, courtesy of the recent Monster Hunter Wilds benchmark tool, show the RX 9070 XT performing nearly as well as the RTX 4090, so it’s a bit up in the air at the moment as to where exactly it will land in the GPU hierarchy.

In any case, AMD keeps the price close to Nvidia’s cards, then people might end up opting for the RTX 5070 series instead – especially with Nvidia pushing the ‘similar performance to the RTX 4090‘ narrative (with help from DLSS 4 Multi Frame Gen). Looking at the poll results and performance leaks, the ideal price range for the RX 9070 XT seems to be around $599 or below.
