The Made by Google event is a few weeks away, and we’re looking at a range of exciting new products, like the Google TV Streamer, a possible new Pixel watch, and a Nest Learning Thermostat. However, it is very likely that the upcoming Pixel 9 Pro models will steal the most of the spotlight.
While Google has shared very few details, there have been several rumors and speculations surrounding the Google Pixel 9 series. However, from what is known about the devices, they are likely to be more expensive than the Pixel 8 models.
A new leak suggests that Pro and Pro XL prices start at $999 and $1,199 in the US
As per a new leak, the Pro and Pro XL could cost buyers a pretty penny. According to the post on Reddit, the Google Pixel 9 Pro base model can cost $999, and the Pixel 9 Pro XL will start at $1,199.
The post seems to be a screenshot of T-Mobile offering their plans along with the upcoming Pixel phones. As it can be seen in the image, Pixel 9 Pro’s base model seems to be priced at $999.99.
Meanwhile, the Pixel 9 Pro XL 256GB is priced at $1,199.99. Interestingly, the 512GB storage variant also has a price tag of $1,199.99, which might be a pre-order offer or some other kind of offer by T-Mobile.
Further, the image also points out two potential colors – Porcelain and Obsidian, which sound plain. This is different from an earlier leak that said Pixel 9 would have bold colors.
It has been speculated that the Pixel 9 series would have four phones, including a Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL. Earlier last week, the 9 Pro XL appeared in a Geekbench listing and seemed to be equipped with a Tensor G4 processor and outdid the Pixel 8 Pro in single and multi-core performance. Considering the improved performance, the high prices might not come as a surprise.
In any case, the final prices of the upcoming Pixel phones won’t be confirmed until the smartphones are launched. It is likely that we will know more at the Made by Google event, which is scheduled for August 13th.
