Razer announces refreshes of Blade laptops for 2023

Laptops, laptops and more laptops! CES has come around and Razer has decided to refresh the Blade variation of their laptop lineup with three new versions to meet the recently announced additional hardware from AMD and NVIDIA. 

The Blade 14, 15, and 17 will all be able to have the recent laptop version of the 3080 Ti inside, which NVIDIA claims is better than the full-fat TITAN RTX card. Also included is DDR5 RAM and 12th gen Intel chips on the 15 and 17, while the 14 has the newly announced AMD 6900HX – which comes with Vega integrated graphics as well. 

Each version has PCIe 4 inside, with a 1TB NVMe drive as standard, but can be replaced with a 2TB one if needed. 

All your favorite ports are there too, USB 3.2 Gen 2 A and C, as well as HDMI 2.1 for newer TVs and monitors. Pretty much everything you could want from a machine over the course of its lifetime is included and that’s neat!

These laptops aren’t going to break any new ground any time soon, but Razer’s previous outings have always been killer entries into the gaming laptop space and these sleek machines seem to continue on that course. 

The most curious to me is the 3080 Ti, especially with the 14-inch model, as NVIDIA and AMD have both implemented software or hardware that can help manage your battery life and laptop when not plugged in. Will one counter the other? Does the hardware management of NVIDIA outweigh AMD’s software management? 

Whatever the case, these are really impressive laptops with “impressive” prices to boot, with each configuration for each version certainly making us reconsider our spending habits. 

The Razer Blade 15 and 17 will launch on January 25th, with a starting cost of $2499 and $2699. The fully configured versions will run you 3999 and 4299, with the maxed-out 17 version having a full 3080 onboard rather than the laptop Ti variation. 

The Razer Blade 14 follows on February 10th and will have a base price of $1999 and $3499 for the 3080 Ti version.
