AYN announced its full list of Odin 3 Portal specs along with its launch date a couple of weeks ago, but now the handheld brand has had to make amends. An upgraded 9,000 mAh battery was one of the big selling points for the Portal, up from 8,000mAh in both the Odin 2 Portal and regular Odin 3, and this spec holds true. However, it turns out the charging rate isn’t the advertised 60W – instead, it’s just 45W. For comparison, the regular Odin 3 does offer full 60W charging, but it’s still a great upgrade over the Odin 2 Portal’s 27W.

You can now pick up the 7-inch Odin 3 Portal from AYN’s official store page, starting at $399.00 (as long as the early bird offer is active). That’s for the base 12GB memory + 128GB storage model, but there are also a few other, more expensive options across Pro and Max tiers. The charging rate sits at 45W across all three tiers, while other specifications remain as advertised when the Portal was first unveiled.

Revised specs list for the AYN Odin 3 Portal

Posting to the official AYN Discord server, company representative Nicole explained the situation with the Odin 3 Portal’s battery. While it has indeed upgraded to 9,000mAh, it comes with a downgraded 45W charging rate. This has now been updated on AYN’s official channels.

Regarding Odin 3 Portal Charging Specifications Update

Dear Customers,

Following a final review of the product specifications, we would like to clarify the maximum charging rate of the Odin 3 Portal.

Due to an internal documentation discrepancy during the preparation of the product materials, the charging rate was previously listed as 60W. The finalized design specification and actual product configuration support a maximum charging rate of 45W.

The Odin 3 Portal will be manufactured and delivered according to the finalized 45W specification. The relevant product information has also been updated on the product page to reflect the confirmed specifications.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and appreciate your understanding and continued support.

Thank you for your trust in us.
