Another round of GPU price increases is supposedly on the way, based on recently shared data from Chinese industry insider ChannelGate. It was only last week that we were talking about expected AMD GPU price increases, and now it’s Nvidia’s turn to adjust pricing in the region. The leak is largely based on data from Chinese GPU brand Colorful, with up to a $500 USD increase for the China-specific 24GB RTX 5090D v2 and up to a $450 USD increase for the 16GB RTX 5080.

A study from the end of September made it clear that GPU prices had become up to 40% more expensive in Nvidia’s case over the past few months, but we only expect to see them rise further. Team Green hasn’t released any new gaming GPUs since the entry-level RTX 5050 in July last year. Leaks point towards a 24GB version of the RTX 5080 soon, especially after the 16GB model disappeared from Nvidia’s marketplace.

Adjustments to RTX 50 series GPU prices in China

Originally sourced from ChannelGate on Weixin (known as WeChat outside of China), @harukaze5719 has shared the details on X. They note that high-end models from Colorful are around $150-300 USD more expensive, while the RTX 5060 has also seen a smaller increase from Galax, at an additional $30.

Colorful

  • RTX 5090D v2: 2,200-3,300 yuan
  • RTX 5080: 2,500-2,800 yuan
  • RTX 5070 Ti: 1,000 yuan
  • RTX 5070: 600-900 yuan
  • RTX 5060 Ti 16GB: 250-400 yuan
  • RTX 5060 Ti 8GB: 100-150 yuan
  • RTX 5060: 150-200 yuan

Galax

  • RTX 5060 and above series: Expected to receive price increases of at least 200 yuan across the range.
  • Higher-end RTX 50 series models: Potentially facing even larger increases.

It’s not immediately obvious just how this may translate to other brands, particularly those that are more popular in the Western world. That being said, we’ve noticed GPU prices creeping up across popular US retailers, including Amazon and Newegg. The flagship RTX 5090 is the biggest offender thanks to its massive amount of VRAM (32GB), but it isn’t the only example recently.
