Anbernic, a brand that specializes in modern-day versions of retro handhelds, has just announced its Black Friday sales. With just a quick browse of its store, you can see that the vast majority of its handheld game consoles are on sale. Anbernic is the perfect place to shop if you’re looking for retro handhelds, whether it’s a Game Boy lookalike or something that looks more modern, designed for retro emulation.

Recently, the company announced pre-orders for its Nintendo DS lookalike, officially called the RG DS. This dual-screen handheld has some interesting features that you definitely won’t find on the original Nintendo DS consoles, such as the ability to play two games at once, as well as touch support on both the top and bottom screens.

What are the best discounts in the Anbernic Black Friday sale?

Best sellers include the clamshell RG35XXSP (named after the Game Boy SP), which is capable of emulating up to the Sony PSP. This device is incredibly popular; most of its variants are sold out, but if you can pick one up, it’s up to 30% off. Another best seller is the regular RG35XX, which, as you’ll notice, is like the original Game Boy. The RG35XX is up to 36% off right now.

Sticking with the Game Boy theme, there’s also the RG34XX, which is akin to a Game Boy Advance, going for as much as 26% off, depending on the variant you opt for. Understandably, some of the biggest discounts are on the (perhaps) less desirable picks. Or at least, those without the nostalgia factor. The RG28XX supports “30+ emulators” and dons a pretty simple D-pad and four face button design, along with four bumper buttons in total. Another solid choice is the WIN600 for 37%-41% off, a more modern-looking handheld with dual thumbsticks and a 6″ display.
