RTX 50 Super specs rumor tells us that Nvidia might finally be giving us more VRAM
Table of Contents
The RTX 5090 release was only in January 2025 and marked Blackwell’s debut for consumer graphics cards. Now, just half a year later, we’ve pretty much seen everything it has to offer and are now hearing rumors about the Super range of cards for it, bringing some upgraded specs with one important factor: more VRAM.
The well-known industry leaker kopite7kimi has released what might be the specs for the upcoming range of RTX 50 series Super GPUs. With the three detailed cards being the RTX 5070 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super, and even a potential look at the RTX 5080 Super.
From the looks of it, Nvidia might just be giving us what we wanted from the 50 Super series, more VRAM. Kopite7kimi suggests each of the cards is getting 50% more memory at the cost of extra power, something gamers have been asking for from Nvidia. But since rumors don’t reach the budget GPUs (5060 series or 5050), which arguably need the upgrade more, it might not be as effective an improvement as we’d like. However, we’ll have to wait for pricing details to determine if it’s a worthwhile release.

RTX 50 Super specs (rumored)
In the table below, we’ve detailed the information and compared it to the non-Super version of each graphics card as well. There, you can see that each of the cards is getting a memory capacity upgrade for its GDDR7 VRAM. Each of these seemingly comes with the cost of requiring more power to run, as each of the cards’ TBP has increased as well. The 5070 Super is seemingly also getting more CUDA cores, while the 5080 Super is getting faster memory speeds as well.
| Specs | RTX 5070 | RTX 5070 Super | RTX 5070 Ti | RTX 5070 Ti Super | RTX 5080 | RTX 5080 Super |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GPU | GB205-300 | GB205-400 | GB203-200 | GB203-350 | GB203-400 | GB203-450 |
| CUDA cores | 6,144 | 6,400 | 8,960 | 8,960 | 10,752 | 10,752 |
| Memory capacity | 12GB GDDR7 | 18GB GDDR7 | 16GB GDDR7 | 24GB GDDR7 | 16GB GDDR7 | 24GB GDDR7 |
| Memory bus | 192-bit | 192-bit | 256-bit | 256-bit | 256-bit | 256-bit |
| Memory speed | 28Gbps | 28Gbps | 28Gbps | 28Gbps | 30Gbps | 32Gbps |
| TBP | 250W | 275W | 300W | 350W | 360W | 415W |
Based on this rumor, we expect to see a 50% increase in memory capacity, as the RTX 5070 Super gains 6GB, and both the 5070 Ti Super and 5080 Super receive 8GB more.

The RTX 5070 Super is also equipped with 256 more CUDA cores, a 4% increase over the non-Super model, as well as a 25W power increase, equivalent to a 10% boost. The RTX 5070 Ti Super is a bit more straightforward, with 50% more memory, it costs 50W (+17%) more power. As for the RTX 5080 Super, it receives a 2 Gbps (+7%) speed increase for its memory, which, overall, requires 55W (+15%) more power.
These cards are also expected to utilize different GPU chips that bring about these changes, but it may be a while before they are released. According to the Benchlife, it’s actually CES 2026 that these cards are going to be announced, so it’s still another half a year before we get them. This would follow the same release pattern as the 40-series Super refresh.
