Nvidia's latest addition to the RTX 50 series lineup, the RTX 5060 Ti, seems to be struggling to capture consumer attention. While the 16GB model has seen decent numbers, the 8GB variant is being largely ignored by gamers. Popular reviewers, like Hardware Unboxed, have dubbed the 8GB model “Instantly Obsolete,” comparing its longevity to 4GB cards, suggesting the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB never should have been released.

To add to that, large German retailer Mindfactory previously shared sales data showing that, out of 105 units sold on the launch day, none of them were 8GB models. Now, Mindfactory's website shares updated data on the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB model’s sales performance, and it's clear that public opinion on the GPU is unlikely to change anytime soon, if at all.

RTX 5060 Ti only manages to sell around 10 units

According to public sales stats on Mindfactory.de, the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB model has only managed to sell just over 10 units since launch, a stark contrast to its bigger sibling. The 16GB variant, including over 160 units of the Palit Ti Infinity 3 edition and over 130 units of the MSI Ventus 2x OC Plus, has totaled around 300 sales, clearly highlighting that the majority of mid-range gamers are not rushing to buy the 8GB model.

GPU ModelPriceSales
RTX 5060 Ti 8GB Palit Dual€39910+
RTX 5060 Ti 16GB (Total)~300
RTX 5060 Ti 16GB Palit Infinity 3€449160+
RTX 5060 Ti 16GB MSI Ventus 2x OC Plus€449130+
RTX 5060 Ti 16GB Palit Infinity 3 OC€4795+

The RTX 5060 Ti 8GB has been a disappointment for many gamers, mainly due to its limited 8GB of VRAM, which falls short at higher settings in some modern AAA titles. This puts Nvidia in a tough spot, especially when you consider competitors like Intel, with their affordable Arc B series (Arc B580 and Arc B570) GPUs, offering solid 1440p performance and more VRAM. On top of that, with AMD's RX 9060 XT on the horizon, it may not be easy for Nvidia to keep relying on 8GB at the entry level.
