AMD released the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT in March this year. When they launched, they didn't disappoint, as both turned out to be solid mid-range options. Now that Nvidia has released the RTX 5060 Ti and the non-Ti 5060, next in line is AMD’s RX 9060 XT, which has now been announced at Computex 2025.

Earlier this year, the company confirmed that “RX 9060 products” will be coming in Q2 2025 at the tail end of the RX 9000 series reveal. And now, at Computex, two new models have been announced: 16GB and 8GB versions of the RX 9060 XT. There has been no mention of a non-XT card just yet.

RX 9060 XT release date

There was plenty of speculation about when the launch would happen, some predicting late May and some predicting early June. As per AMD’s official announcement, we can now confirm that the RX 9060 XT will be available from June 5th, 2025. Funnily enough, that’s the exact same release date as the Nintendo Switch 2.

In AMD’s Computex keynote, Jack Huynh commented: “We’re excited for more gamers to experience the RDNA 4 family starting on June 5th, worldwide”. The date, along with pricing details and the two configurations, can be seen below.

RX 9060 XT specs

Specs for the 9060 XT were leaked early, and they match up closely to what AMD has officially revealed (which is now viewable on AMD’s website). You can check out the specs of the 9060 XT below. We've also included the specs of two older cards, so you can see what kind of improvements the new card brings.

VideoCardz also reported that the RX 9060 XT will need a minimum 500W power supply, while some models might need 550W or more. However, according to the AMD website, the minimum PSU recommendation is 450W. Again, this is a minimum and is subject to different partner card specs and their respective recommendations.

RX 9060 XT price

As for the price, we can now confirm that the RX 9060 XT starts at $299 for the 8GB model and $349 for the 16GB model. AMD even claims that it is “The fastest graphics card” under $350, comparing it directly to the 5060 Ti. These numbers are a little higher than previous speculation, but certainly offer competitive pricing versus key rival Nvidia.

  • RX 9060 XT 16GB $349 (MSRP)
  • RX 9060 XT 8GB: $299 (MSRP)

For comparison, the RTX 5060, which launched on May 19th, also costs $299 with 8GB of VRAM. However, the RX 9060 XT offers performance closer to the Ti card. Nvidia's 16GB RTX 5060 Ti is priced at $429, while the 8GB 5060 Ti is $379. We’ll need to wait for the reviews of the RX 9060 XT 16GB to go live to see more performance comparisons, but AMD claims the 16GB 9060 XT is 6% faster on average across 40 games at 1440p ultra (native) when compared to the 8GB 5060 Ti.

Will there be an RX 9060 non-XT?

Based on the last generation, which gave us the RX 7600 and RX 7600 XT, it seems that AMD would yet again provide two new models, just like the 9070 series, and Nvidia’s own mid-range graphics cards so far this year. However, there is currently no mention of the non-XT card in production, at least not officially.

In the 7000 series, the 7600 came with 8GB and the 7600 XT came with 16GB VRAM, but we can now see that the 9060 XT offers both these VRAM tiers. With that in mind, it’s entirely possible that there will not be a non-XT card, or at least not one which is ready to be unveiled just yet.

Should I keep my RX 7600 XT or upgrade to the 9060 XT?

Generally speaking, especially in more recent generations of GPUs, upgrading to the next-gen equivalent graphics card doesn’t really offer you a massive benefit. Of course, you’ll have access to RDNA 4 architecture to unlock the potential of FSR 4, but we recommend waiting for further benchmark tests to become available for comparing these two cards. So far, the RX 9060 XT offering solid performance versus the RTX 5060 Ti (as per AMD’s official tests) is a great start.
