The GPU news cycle may currently be dominated by talk of the upcoming announcement of the Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti, but in the background, AMD has been quietly at work on another GPU, and the specifications have begun to leak out. The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is one of the most successful graphics cards that AMD has launched in recent years. It seems AMD is not content to rest on its laurels, and news of the next GPU in the product lineup has begun to emerge.
The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is positioned to take on its rival from Team Green, the RTX 5060 Ti. Similar to its Nvidia opponent, it will reportedly have two memory configurations with an 8GB and 16GB model, though AMD is sticking with GDDR6 memory.
RX 9060 XT specs leak ahead of official announcement
First things first, AMD has yet to announce the RX 9060 XT, but it has noted that “RX 9060 products” will be coming in Q2 this year. There has been no mention of an exact launch date, though some analysts believe the GPU could be formally unveiled at Computex in May.

According to information obtained by VideoCardz, the RX 9060 XT will require a minimum of 500W power supply, with some models requiring 550W or higher. Power connectors seen so far have been 8-pin versions. No word so far on a 16-pin connector.
It is also worth noting that this RDNA 4 card will have much higher clock speeds than the equivalent GPU from the previous generation. The RX 7600 XT had a game clock of 2,470 MHz and a boost clock of 2,755 MHz. On top of that, we already know the new RDNA 4 cards have exclusive access to Team Red’s latest FSR 4 feature set.
AMD has managed to gain some ground on Nvidia by competing in the mid-range. Amidst the chaos of the RTX 50 launch, Radeon has become a viable alternative for many PC gaming fans. Not surprising that the company is continuing with what has been a successful strategy so far.
